Boy, this seems like a really good opportunity to get into a new-ish car that I can get into . Someone please talk this N52 and 1er lover in or out of this... even though such a purchase would be contingent on me selling 2 cars. I never tracked prices on automatics, but something about beggars and choosers.

Agreed, I’d maybe ditch the wood and try to fit xenons but otherwise this is very appealing. Of course, there’s always the possibility that it might bomb a PPI, bu it seems pretty well looked-after!

I used to have a 128i, I liked it. However it was let down by only having two pedals. It would probably be a much better exercise to get one that came with three pedals from the factory.

Let me know if you need a good BMW shop in the area for a PPI. Also, I have some leftover carbon fiber interior wrap. If u want it, it’s yours. I just gotta find it first haha.

Thanks! The carbon fiber wrap seems to really improve some of the wood trim in BMWs. I know a few euro shops, but only one BMW specialist and not all that well. This 128i is a bit of a long shot but I’ll let you know if I end up going through with it.

You’re right there. I got to row my own in a 128i once and I can imagine that was a more engaging car than this is. Probably worth waiting for the right version of the right car.

Absolutely not. A transmission swap on anything post 2005 is a fucking nightmare. You will be 10G into electronics, sensors a new computer and clutch assembly before you can say Oops. And thats BEFORE labour
